Insight from our investors

Last week we held our first Investor Day for a small group of our property investor clients. We wanted to find out what was on their minds and what support they needed in their investment projects.

If you attended and there was something in particular you would like to pick up with us, let us know.

In the coming weeks we will be sharing further insight and hot topics covered at the event. To ensure you do not miss out, follow us on LinkedIn or Twitter.

HMO conversions - advice for landlords

Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMOs) were a topic of lively debate at the Investor Day - being a popular property category for many landlords. However, there are a number of things to bear in mind if you want to convert a single family residence into an HMO.

To help landlords, we created a guide to managing an HMO conversion, from making sure the property is suitable, to the licencing rules you will need to follow.

Secured loans - why you should consider one

One of the topics addressed at the Investor Day was the potential use of secured loans. It emerged that some of our investor clients were not aware of the option of using a secured loan to raise funding for their portfolio requirements such as a deposit for a new property or for works to be carried.

We therefore wanted to share an article we wrote answering some of the questions frequently asked around secured loans.

Thoughts from Shawbrook Bank on the Investor Day

Emma Cox, Sales Director, Commercial Mortgages, Shawbrook Bank was one of the speakers at the Investor Day and was kind enough to share her thoughts on it.

"The team at Shawbrook were delighted to be invited to speak at CPC Finance's Investor Day. Shawbrook has worked in partnership with CPC Finance for many years and it was a great opportunity to meet mutual clients and listen to their feedback.

"We also took the opportunity to explain how Shawbrook approaches specialist buy-to-let with a focus on the HMO market in terms of appetite, valuations and the legal process. The discussions were informative and topical which encouraged a great level of debate on the emergence of HMOs as an attractive investment for the experienced landlord. Overall the day was a great success, demonstrating CPC Finance's ongoing commitment to the support they offer clients."

If you have any feedback or comments you would like to share, we would love to hear from you.
