Resolution for the summer

Given the recent warm weather we can confidently say that summer is here. While we should all make the most of the summer, portfolio landlords should also make sure that they are ready for the new, stricter underwriting rules coming in at the end of September for landlords with four properties or more. We are supporting our landlords in preparation for this with resources and a dedicated Property Investor Day of advice, so get in touch if you have any questions.

Shawbrook BTL report

Recently Shawbrook Bank launched its UK Buy-To-Let Market Report, providing a wide range of insights and analysis into this key marketplace.

The report highlighted important areas for further discussion, leading Shawbrook to put together a group of leading property experts to debate the issues in the report and also to give their views on both BTL and the private rental sector as a whole. Shawbrook condensed the report findings into a shorter summary report, containing input from selected Shawbrook partners, including CPC Finance.

High yield vs capital gain

One of the most important steps for a landlord, before deciding upon the right property for the next investment, is gaining an understanding of what they want from it financially: is the main purpose to achieve higher yields and cash flow, or achieve the highest capital appreciation and return on investment throughout the time the property is owned? Of course, ultimately landlords are looking for both but properties will differ in how they deliver one or the other. Our guide for Landlord News explores strategies to achieve both.

Unusual buy-to-lets - when we can help

Unusual BTLNot all buy-to-let investments are straightforward. It might be an unusual personal or property situation, so landlords may think that they cannot approach a broker or lender for finance because they will automatically be refused. However, this is often not the case and we can help investors, even if they have unusual circumstances. See our blog for the kinds of cases we can help with.
